Beginning of 50 mile prep called for a long run of 16 miles, so I headed out the door @ 5:17 a.m. to a sticky 69 degrees and 83% humidity, which meant that i would have to keep well hydrated. After a recovery week, legs felt really good and hummed along for 16.16 miles in 2 hr 38 min w/o incident until the last 1.5 miles where i ran into a pretty good patch of rain which rendered one satisfied and soggy dawg at the end.
STATS:
Miles: 16.16
Time: 2 hr 38 min
Avg.: 9:46/mi
Average Heart Rate: 141 (75%)
Calories: 2373 (this seems a bit high?)
Fuel: 6 packets of chocolate outrage GU
1 20 oz. bottle of Hammer HEED
??? oz from Camelbak

I'd say that was a little more of an effort than the standard Monday night recovery ride
